Although we have only recently kept in touch via Christmas cards, I first met George when I became his working partner in the public lighting department of Eastern Electricity nearly 50 years ago.
We had a long and sometimes amusing working partnership ( I can still hear his infectious laughter now )
He was always kind to myself and my wife Linda and did numerous building jobs for us, as a young not particularly wealthy married couple but would never take any payment.
It probably helped that it was usually during EEB time ( HA HA )
Great memories too numerous to mention.
Sending Love and Hugs to Teresa and all other relatives at this sad time.

I have many happy memories of Uncle George. The laughter when he was at our house on Monday evenings and on other occasions when he was helping my DIY Dad with his home improvements. I'm another of the nieces and nephews he taught to drive - what patience he had ! I recall driving to and from an aunt and uncle's house - a round trip of about 180 miles, and also of reversing his car gently to touch a brick wall to prove you could do so without damaging the car - what trust he had ! Then there was my first day at work after leaving school and Uncle George turned up on the doorstep with a chauffeur's hat tucked underneath his arm so that I wouldn't have to go on the bus. Rest in peace Uncle George - you are very sadly missed. love Jan and Brian xx

When I first met George he made me so welcome that I felt as if I’d known him for years.
I will miss his cheeky smile and wonderful sense of humour. He often amused me with stories covering a multitude of topics! Always interesting and his knowledge was vast.
I will miss him and remember him with great fondness.
Keep smiling George,
